MD Energy Heat Recovery Systems

How does it work?

  1. Stale, damp and warm air is removed from “wet” areas of your home such as the kitchen and bathrooms.
  2. Then fresh air is drawn in from the outside.
  3. In a heat-exchanger the stale air is used to heat this fresh air.
  4. The stale air is then disposed of through an exhaust vent and finally the fresh, warm air is introduced to your home.

What are the main benefits?

  • Improves the energy-efficiency of your home.Unit
  • Reduces heating costs.
  • Keeps your home ‘fresher’ and healthier all year round.
  • Lowers humidity levels and reduces damp / harmful bacteria.
  • Provides health benefits for allergy sufferers.
  • It’s environmentally friendly.
  • Less noise from outside as there is no Ventilation holes in the external wall, thus keeping your house warmer and more energy efficient.

Mechanical extraction ventilation (MEV) can give precise, controlled, air extraction. It can take moisture and polluted air from area such as toilets, bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms and vent it to the external atmosphere.

Depending upon the building design and system requirements it can feature either a single unit extracting internal air through ducts from a number of wet rooms or it can have a separate fan running at a faster continuous extract rate in several locations in the house. When mechanical ventilation is combined with heat recovery to give MVHR - mechanical ventilation with heat recovery - it also gives excellent energy conservation. As much as 90 per cent of the heat in the air being expelled from the building can be recovered to warm the fresh incoming air, with obvious benefits in terms of reduced energy demands and therefore lower fuel bills. Typically fuel bills lower by 5% and up to 10% on E.S.T. Best Practice (3 air tightness).

MD Energy heat recovery systems are guaranteed for a period of 5 years of operational use.
